Facebook Is Testing A Shopping Section For In-App Retail

Facebook is deciding to become the one and only place you spend your digital life.Facebook is working to transform your news feed into a storefront is on the way.

The tech giant said that they are testing a few new ways to shop in its app.

Facebook says that in the coming weeks it will test a shopping section that will work as a single place for people to see,share and purchase products.


You may soon see ads that will allow you to browse products in a fast load,along with full screen,before going to its retail online store to buy products.The tech giant also says that similar ads that require you to go to the retailers site will be a bit slow in loading,so much like instant articles for news,Facebook is hoping to keep you interested in ads for longer by having them load faster within the app.

These are the latest step Facebook has taken for their In-app store.Facebook has already tested its buy button option in its In-app retail  store where people can buy any products without leaving the app.The company will also show its shop option in pages,businesses.

"On Facebook we have seen that people are coming to our platform not only to connect with friends and families but also they are coming with products and brand",the company said in a blog post.Out of its 1.2 billion active users almost half of the peoples are coming on Facebook just to look products and brand,the company said.

These efforts of Facebook are a part of its  larger goal to become your world-and make advertisers pay to be there.


You can chat with friends,do calls and many more stuffs without leaving the Facebook world.Most of the people use Facebook through mobiles,therefore they are capitalizing on the fact that user spend most of their time in a few apps,including for many,Facebook.

The company has convinced many news organisations to share their stories directly on their platform,retailers are being encouraged to market and sell right on their platform.

If Facebook can run this well enough then in a market like India,there will be tough competition among the E-commerce giants like flipkat,snapdeal and amazon.
