Google Is Testing Password-Free Login

Google is working on a service that will enable users to log into accounts just by tapping on their smartphones, eliminating the need to key in hard-to-remember-passwords.The internet giant has started testing this features on a selected user base.

The Google spokesperson told VentureBeat- we have invited a small group of users to help test a new way to sign-in to their Google accounts, no password required.

The no-password feature is still in process of testing stages and believed to allow users to log into their accounts using their smartphones. When you will log from a different location,like friend's laptop or a PC,instead of inputting a password, the feature will apparently prompt users by pinging their smartphones.The notification, once addressed, will act as an identity confirmation, allowing users access to their accounts on unfamiliar systems.

Google's planned feature was experienced by a reddit user, Rohit Paul, who was among the few to receive an invitation from Google to test the new password free login feature.

In his reddit account, Paul wrote: 'you authorize the phone to allow you to login to your account. You go into a computer and type in your E-mail, then you get a message on your phone to allow the login.If you hit yes, the computer logs into your Google account without password.

He also included screenshots of the entire procedure, which shows the prompts Google provide before allowing access to user accounts. Paul provided two screenshots which are below:

Google declared that this feature will be available for both android and iOS users.However users will be allowed the option to retain the more traditional method of logging in via a password. Google claims that the new feature will give it a much- needed edge in the fight against phishing.

In the beginning of this year,Google introduced the chrome extension 'password alert' that warns users about malicious websites attempting to imitate Google accounts to steal the data and sensitive information. Apple Will Launch Its Watch In India On November 6,Will start at Rs.36,999

Apple watch will finally launch in India on november 6th,according to the news in the official Apple India website.Apple has not declared the price,the price yet to come,but it is expected that the price will be some where like INR 36,999.

In April a E-commerce player Grabmore.in started taking pre-orders of the Apple watch for Indian customers at a starting price of INR 36,999.

How it works: when users who sign up for account key try to access yahoo mail,they will no longer need to enter their password.The account key service will send a message to your smartphone connected to the account.

With a tap on yes or no,users can indicate it is a legitimate attempt to get into the account or deny unauthorised access.

Now assume if your smartphone is lost or stolen,you can verify identities through an email or a text message sent to alternative account and number.

Recently in a blog post on yahoo's tumblr page,the vice president of product management,Dylan Casey,said Account key is more secure than the traditional passwords because it prohibits anyone from signing in to access an account without the verification that account key provides.

A security manager with symantec,Satnam Narang,called the approach "a step above password",but also said that the process is a two factor authentication,which requires users to confirm their identity with two different pieces of information.

He also expressed doubts that most of the users will let password die easily and encouraged widespread adoption of password management tools until a new verification method replaces them for good.

In addition to account key verification,Yahoo executives announced a latest version of yahoo mail that allows users to connect with,manage and search outlook,hotmail and AOL email accounts while signed into their Yahoo account.

The new email service will also connect to twitter,Linkedln and Facebook to add photos and you can also create contacts cards,with email,telephone and social media information for contacts.

Google saves all your searches: You might have searched a lot of things on Google,but do you have any idea that your entire search history are stored on Google server.

How to delete this feature: If you'd rather not have a list of ridiculous search queries stored up,then head to Google's history page, click menu(the three vertical dots) and then click advanced->All time->delete.

If you want to stop Google tracking your searches,head to the activity control page and hit tracking off.

Google tracks and records your location: Despite,recording your search history and voice search history,Google is also tracking your location.

Google's location history,or timeline page,serves up a Google map and allows you to select specific dates and times and sees where you were.Its accuracy depends on whether you were signed into Google account and whether you were carrying a mobile phone or tablet at the time.

How to delete this feature: When you visit the timeline page you can go to settings in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and select delete all from there.

There's also an option to pause location history by clicking the big button in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. 

But this one is a bit trickier to completely get rid off,because to completely stop it happening in the future you'll need to opt out of both location tracking and location reporting with your device--whether you are running android or iOS operating system.

Google,now a part of Alphabet,buys new domain,abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com

Google has registered itself on Alphabet.Days after registering Alphabet as the publicly traded company,Google-who now operates as a fully subsidiary of Alphabet-has bought an unusual domain name-abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com.

According to domain database whois,the domain was registered on August 2,1999 and was updated on October 2,2015.As of now there is no information on the price it was bought for.

The full sequence of the letters of the Roman alphabet in the domain name is an obvious reference to Google's new parent-Alphabet.But Google's intention of taking a long domain is still unclear.
But unfortunately Google doesn't have a right to use Alphabet.com,because the right to use this domain is already with the company BMW,which has a subsidiary company by the name of Alphabet.

BMW's Alphabet provides services to companies with vehicle fleet and operates in 18 other countries and supplies 530,000 vehicles to corporate customers.

Google has picked a name that is a popular name among the American businesses.There are currently 103 trademark registration in the United States that include the word-Alphabet or some close variation,according to database search of the US patent and Trademark office.
